Chief executives at some of the nation's biggest corporations just say no to hefty salaries -- instead, choosing to take home just a dollar. Oracle's (ORCL) Larry Ellison may have a $1 annual salary; however, he's still ranked among the highest-paid CEOs in America. Last year, his total compensation topped $67.2 million, including nearly $65 million in option awards. After Facebook's (FB) first year as a public company, founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg requested his six-figure base salary be taken down to just a dollar, without the ability to receive annual bonus compensation. That hasn't stopped him from reaching number 11 on the Forbes 400, with an estimated net worth of $36.5 billion. And Richard Fairbank, co-founder and chief executive of Capital One (COF), takes home even less of a base salary.
