Oprah's Gift List, Same-Day Delivery Boosts Macy's November

Macy's had a big November, tacking on gains on public markets after announcing the launch of a same-day delivery pilot program that pits it against Amazon, and also boosting its brand by scoring several spots on Oprah's coveted favorite things holiday list. However, the big retailer had to navigate a potentially disastrous public relations scenario, when its flagship store was overrun with protestors in the middle of holiday shopping season. With gains this year, but a reduced set of full-year profit expectations, Macy's will have to sell itself to investors once again.
