Oil Pushes Stocks Lower; Fashion Stocks Move On Heels of Earnings
U.S. stocks ended trading on this Midterm Election day mostly lower. The blue chips however did manage to close in the green. Crude oil slid another straight day as Saudi Arabia cut prices for exports to the U.S. Energy stocks once again led the declines. Denbury Resources (DNR) and SM Energy (SM) both fell sharply. Shares of Apple (AAPL) and Google (GOOG) were little changed after reaching a video deal with Disney (DIS). The tech giants will allow consumers to buy and watch Disney movies from either of their online stores and devices. Fashion stocks moved on the heels of earnings. Michael Kors (KORS) fell after reporting same-store sales missed expectations. But L Brands (LB) picked up 2.5%. The parent company of Victoria's Secret raised its Q3 earnings forecast. Earnings results investors will keep an eye out for Wednesday include CBS (CBS), Tesla (TSLA) and Whole Foods (WFM).
