President Obama is set to prevent a China-based company from purchasing German semiconductor company Aixtron, according to a report from Bloomberg. The deal is worth $711 million. At issue is Aixtron's clients, some of which are companies that specialize in defense. The U.S. is worried the deal poses national security risks. President Obama is expected to echo sentiment from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S., which is concerned about the deal and has the authority to prevent Aixtron's U.S. division from being purchased by an overseas entity.
