For the latter half of 2018, midterm elections and Federal Reserve policy top the worry list for investors.
That's the assessment from Matthew Cheslock, an equity trader with Virtu Financial based on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
"If we get a change in Congress, that may affect what Trump's able to do going forward," he said, adding that Federal Reserve policy, in terms of the number of rate hikes the central bank is planning, may rattle investors' nerves in the coming months.
The Fed is debating on whether to hike rates three times this year or four. The central bank already announced one hike in March.
