NYC Sues Verizon Over Lack of Promised Fiber Optic Coverage
Verizon promised to have Fios available in all city dwellings by 2014
The city of New York sued Verizon ( (VZ) - Get Report ) Monday for failing to live up to its 2008 promise of making its fiber optic network, Fios, available in all city dwellings by 2014. An audit found more than 40,000 requests for service pending, most of which have been outstanding for 12 months or longer, according to the Wall Street Journal.
