New York Giant Justin Pugh thought "Take a Knee" was disrespectful to the flag and the military at first. Then he thought some more.

"When it first happened, I may have taken offense to it" Pugh told TheStreet on Tuesday, Sept. 26, during an event for Conair, of which he is a sponsor. "I have a brother in the military."

"Now I'm realizing what everyone is going through and realizing they still love the men and women that fight for this country and give the ultimate sacrifice that allows us to do what we do. The players are trying to start a dialogue about something that's very serious going on in our country."

Pugh added: "I'm a fan of our First Amendment right and freedom of speech and being able to say and do whatever you want to say. I personally haven't walked in the shoes of some of my teammates. I don't know what they have gone through. I've heard them say to me what they have been through and their past experiences have been like. Now I'm here to support them."
