In the never-ending mobile tech patent war, the latest offensive comes from Nvidia. The manufacturer of graphics chips has filed lawsuits against smartphone manufacturer Samsung and chipmaker Qualcomm, accusing the companies of infringement of seven of its patents. The suits have been filed with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and U.S. District Court in Delaware. Nvidia has not disclosed the monetary value of damages it is seeking, but has asked the ITC to block Samsung Galaxy sales in the States. Despite having more than 7,000 issued or pending patents, this will mark the first patent lawsuit for Nvidia.
