Talk about disruption.

Norwegian Air Shuttle (NWARF) is taking on traditional transatlantic carriers like Delta Air Lines (DAL) - Get Report , United Airlines (UAL) - Get Report and American Airlines (AAL) - Get Report , by offering ultra-low fares on flights to Europe from the United States.

The fuel efficient Boeing (BA) - Get Report 787 Dreamliner and the 737 MAX allow the airline to pass along the fuel savings to consumers. Fares on its 737 MAX routes can be as low as $100.

That said, expect to pay for perks you might take for granted on traditional carriers like meals and drinks.
