North Korean Missile Test Rattles Investors and Trump
A North Korean missile test rattled investors in Asia and sent markets tumbling amid concerns over heightened political tensions in the region.
North Korea fired the missile, which travelled more than 930 kilometres to land in the waters of Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone early Tuesday - and just days ahead of a meeting of G20 Leaders that will, among other things, discuss the proliferation of weapons in Pyongyang.
The escalation also elicited a response from President Donald Trump on Twitter: "North Korea has just launched another missile. Does this guy have anything better to do with his life? Hard to believe that South Korea....and Japan will put up with this much longer. Perhaps China will put a heavy move on North Korea and end this nonsense once and for all!"
