The all-important non-farm payrolls report is scheduled to be released on Friday, April 3, even though markets are closed in observance of Good Friday. Other jobs data include the ADP Employment Report and Jobless Claims. Consumer confidence and motor vehicle sales will provide some insight into the consumer, while manufacturing data like the PMI and ISM Manufacturing Index will look at business health. Federal Reserve President Janet Yellen is speaking at a conference on Thursday and other Fed heads will be on the speaking circuit throughout the week. While the earnings calendar is quiet, the most important trade continues to be in the commodity complex and impact from foreign currency and the U.S. dollar.
