A new equity crowdfunding service launched by Indiegogo less than two weeks ago has already raised more than $404,000, and three out of the four initial offerings already passed their funding goals. The new service allows any investor to back startups and young companies. Under previous SEC rules, only accredited investors with a certain income level could invest in early stage companies. Indiegogo's CEO Dave Mandelbrot says he's excited by  the initial response to the new service, and believes the crowdfunding industry is still just in the early stages of growth. Indiegogo's new service is part of a joint venture with MicroVentures, a company that has raised over $100 million for companies since 2010.
