New Biotech ETFs Offer Exposure to Smaller Players in Hot Sector

The new BioShares exchange traded funds offer exposure into small and mid-sized biotech stocks in what portends to be a big year in the sector, said Andrew McDonald, CEO of LifeSci Index Partners. McDonald added that M&A and drug launches from large cap companies like Gilead and Amgen are igniting the entire sector. He said the stream of biotech IPOs will continue in 2015, especially after the strong performance of new issues last year. Into this environment, LifeSci has high expectations for the BioShares Biotechnology Clinical Trials Fund (BBC) and the BioShares Biotechnology Products Fund (BBP).
