New App Feature Will Warn Investors of Trump Tweets
Finance alert app Trigger has created a feature to warn investors when President-elect Donald Trump is tweeting about their holdings.
Trump's tweets since he was elected have had a pretty big impact on major U.S. corporations. On Thursday, Trump criticized Toyota (TM) - Get Report for possibly building a plant in Mexico and not in the United States. After Trump's tweet, shares of Toyota slid nearly 0.5%. After criticizing Boeing (BA) - Get Report for the price of the Air Force One jet, Boeing shares dipped about 2%.
Trigger is looking to give users the tools to manage the market reaction to Trump's comments by sending out real-time alerts when Trump tweets about certain stocks. But the new feature could be useless after inauguration day. Trump says his use of Twitter (TWTR) - Get Report will be "very restrained" once he takes office.
