Shares of Netflix jumped a staggering 17% on Wednesday, after an impressive fourth quarter earnings announcement, making it TheStreet's Move of the Day. Earnings per share came in at $0.72, crushing analyst's forecasts of a mere $0.45. This was on revenue of $1.48 billion. Netflix gained 2.43 million new international subscribers, compared to forecasts of 2.1 million, bringing the total number of subscribers to 57.4 million. The company said it plans to operate in 200 countries by the end of 2016. The service is already offered in 50 countries. The company will also stream Sony's controversial movie 'The Interview,' beginning January 24th. Shares of Netflix ended the trading day at $409.28 per share, up 19.8% since the start of 2015.
