Netflix announced an agreement to pay Comcast for a direct connect to its servers in order to provide Netflix customers better streaming quality. As Netflix subscriber base has grown, so has its demand for broadband to maintain streaming quality. Netflix's insistence that it wouldn't get preferential treatment is being looked upon with skepticism as a federal court recently struck down the FCC's net neutrality laws.
