Morning Market Stir: The Rebound Continues for Another Day

Markets unchanged this morning after a big day in equities on Tuesday

Wednesday, October 22 – Alan Knuckman reports from the floor of the CME Group in Chicago where equity indexes saw another big upside move on Tuesday. The S&P went well above the 1,900 level, closing at 1,938, the Dow back to 16,547, and the Nasdaq finished just under 4,000 at 3,971. The dollar continued to hold above 85, closing at 85.40, pushing the Euro down to 1.2730. Bonds closed down at 142'22. Crude did not get much of a bounce but closed higher at 82.50, and gold was strong again, ending at 1,252. Equities are steady this morning, with the major indexes largely unchanged. The dollar pushes higher, nearing 85.60, putting more pressure on the Euro. Bonds are drifting lower, with crude up a bit and gold consolidating.
