Equities close October with a V-shaped recovery

Monday, November 3 – Alan Knuckman reports from the floor of the CME Group in Chicago where equities finished the week up 3% and back at new highs. The S&P closed at 2,011, the Dow at 17,311, and the Nasdaq led, closing at 4,091. The dollar surged again, ending the week at 87.01, with the Euro dropping to 1.2530. Bonds fell to 141'03. Crude dropped to 80.50 but still held above the key 80 price level, with gold hitting new lows at 1,172. This morning equities are steady, with the dollar continuing to surge higher, the euro lower, and bonds unchanged. Crude is holding, and gold is attempting to stabilize.
