Monday, September 22 – Alan Knuckman reports from the floor of the CME Group in Chicago, where equity futures closed higher for the week, but sold off during the day Friday following the Alibaba IPO. The S&P E-Mini futures closed at 2,003.75, with the Dow leading at 17,212, and the Nasdaq ending the week at 4,093. The dollar moved higher again, finishing at 84.87, while the Euro dropped to 1.2844. Bonds bounced to 136’19. Crude continued its weakness falling to 91.65, and gold headed lower to 1,217. This morning, equity futures are down, with currencies unchanged, bonds strong, while crude and gold are hanging around where they finished the week.
