Wednesday, September 10 – Alan Knuckman reports from the floor of the CME Group in Chicago where stock futures weakened into the close on Tuesday following the big Apple Conference. The S&P broke down and closed at 1,990, its lowest close since August 22nd. The Dow finished at 17,034, while the Nasdaq was the biggest loser, down 0.8% to 4,066 . The dollar was up slightly to 84.28, and the Euro firmed at 1.2929. Bonds remained weak, drifting lower to 137’23. Crude was up slightly but not particularly strong, finishing at 92.75, while gold continued falling to 1,249. This morning, equities bonds, crude, and gold are hanging around yesterday’s closing prices, while the dollar is reestablishing its recent strength and the Euro weakens.
