Tuesday, September 9 – Alan Knuckman reports from the floor of the CME Group in Chicago where equities closed mixed on Monday. The S&P finished the day down at 2,000.5, the Dow at 17,100, while the Nasdaq was up at 4,093 . The dollar again hit new highs, closing 84.24, and the Euro went to new lows for the year at 1.2908. Bonds were flat at 137’31. Crude made new lows at 91.80, hitting its lowest level since February, while gold also weakened in the face of dollar strength closing at 1,254. This morning, equities are again mixed. Bonds are down, while crude and gold are attempting to retrace some of their losses.
