Wednesday, December 10 – Alan Knuckman reports from the floor of the CME Group in Chicago where markets recovered from being sharply lower on Tuesday. The S&P futures went as low as 2,033 before closing at 2,059. The Dow was negative but also had a big reversal, closing at 17,780. The Nasdaq finished positive for the day at 4,291. The dollar continued drifting lower to 88.69, with the Euro consolidating at 1.2378. Bonds got as high as 142'21 before closing at 143'05. Crude fell to 63.80, while gold was the big winner as it closed at 1,232. This morning, equity markets have been steady. The dollar was up slightly early, with the Euro mostly unchanged. Bonds are hanging around yesterday's close. Crude continues to exhibit weakness, while gold is backing off a bit.
