From the floor of the CME group in Chicago, Alan Knuckman reviews the market results from Monday, June 16 and the prediction for Tuesday, June 17. Markets held and were lightly positive yesterday. Dow futures up 5 at 16,702 and NASDAQ added 3 points at 3,773. Indices didn’t take out last week’s lows, which is important for technical analysis. Dollar down 18, seeing firmness in Euro currency, up 34. Bond market unchanged at 135.31, up 6 ticks. Crude oil up huge during trading hours—107.50 was the high—but ended unchanged at 106.90. Gold gained $1. For Tuesday, June 17, index futures are up, bonds are higher, and crude and gold are down.
