Morning Market Stir: Futures and Commodities Preview
From the floor of the CME group in Chicago Alan Knuckman discusses the mid-year market data and what the market looks like for Tuesday, July 1. Markets finished mixed at the end of the month, and indexes are all up form the beginning of the year. Since January, the NASDAQ is up 7%, S&P up 6% and Dow up 1.5%. Yesterday the S&P closed up at 1953.5, Dow down at 16,740 and the NASDAQ up at 9840.5. The Dollar index went below the 80 point level, pushing the Euro currency up. Bonds were up at 137.02, crude did not do much and closed at 105.45 and gold closed up $2 at 13.22. On today Tuesday July 1, the index futures are all looking towards new highs, the dollar is up 5 and the euro dropped, the 10 year note is at 2.55% and the 30 year is at 3.38%, bonds are down and crude and gold are up.
