From the floor of the CME group in Chicago Alan Knuckman discuses the market action of last Friday and what it indicates for Monday, June 30. S&P at 1952 close last week, almost unchanged from the beginning of the week. Dow down .5% for the week at 16,757 on friday. NASDAQ up 1% for the week, at a post 2000 high of 38.31. Dollar index down and Euro currency was up 37 points on the week. Bonds drop to 136.29, crude was down $.10 on friday and $1.50 for the week, and gold was up $2. For Monday, June 30 index futures are slightly low, dollar is up pushing the 80 point threshold and Euro currency is up, bonds are up, crude is down and gold is down $6.
