Morning Market Stir: Equities Pulling Back Slightly as Strong Week Set to Close

Equities look to close strong as traders consider the impact of headline risk re-emerging

Friday, October 24 – Alan Knuckman reports from the floor of the CME Group in Chicago where markets surged on Thursday after Wednesday's breather. The e-mini S&P futures closed at 1,946, the Dow ended at 16,613, and the Nasdaq finished at 4,005. The dollar was steady at 85.95 and the Euro closed at 1.2653. Bonds pulled back to 141'23. Crude oil bounced to 82.10, and gold backed off to 1,229. This morning, equities are down slightly, with the Nasdaq the weakest due to the big Amazon miss. Currencies are unchanged, with the bond market bouncing. Crude is off with gold attempting to hold above 1,225.
