Morning Market Stir: Equities and The Dollar Remain Strong

Trends still intact as gold and oil attempt to bottom

Wednesday, December 3 – Alan Knuckman reports from the floor of the CME Group in Chicago where equities bounced back on Tuesday. The S&P rose to 2,066, with the Dow making new highs at 17,862, and the Nasdaq recovering to 4,305. The dollar surged to 88.70, with the Euro pushing lower to 1.2381. The bond market fell to 141'02. Crude backed off, falling to 66.90 after getting as high as 69.32. Gold was down 19 dollars, closing at 1,199 as it tries to stabilize over 1,200. This morning, equities are unchanged, with the dollar making new highs, the euro heading lower, bonds sideways, with crude and gold poking higher.
