Tuesday, August 26 – Alan Knuckman reports from the floor of the CME Group in Chicago where E-mini S&P index futures came within a hair’s mark of the 2,000 level yesterday. E-mini futures closed at a record 1,995, while the Dow closed at 17,056 , and the Nasdaq ended the day at 4,063.5. Equities continue higher this morning, as the strength left in this run is tested. The dollar and Euro are unchanged, with bonds up slightly, crude showing strength, and gold making a big move as it reclaims the 1,290 level.
