Millennials may be struggling with student loans and a rough job market, but nearly half have already started saving for retirement, said Kristen Robinson, Senior Vice President at Fidelity. According to Fidelity's 'Millennial Money Study', 43% of respondents said they have a 401(k) and 23% have an IRA. And while the majority of Gen Y view their parents as financial role models, almost half admit they don't ever actually receive financial advice from their parents. Finally, the Fidelity study revealed that 39% of Gen Y women worry about their financial future at least once a week or more, which is why Fidelity is developing education programs targeted toward women.
