The Dow Jones Industrial Average surrendered slight gains as crude oil reversed direction to drop below $43 a barrel again. The energy sector was the biggest drag on Wall Street. A weekly read on domestic crude oil inventories showed an unexpected increase, causing prices to pivot into the red. Ballooning supply and increasing global production have left crude oil prices in the lurch over the past two years. The number of job openings rose in June, another sign of a robust labor market. The JOLTS release showed a 5.62 million increase in openings, putting it closer to the record high set in April. Finally, Yelp (YELP) - Get Report surged after announcing a surprise profit in its recent quarter. Quarterly revenue soared 30 percent thanks to an increase in local advertising accounts.
