U.S. stocks snapped their three-day winning streak as the good mood that has pushed markets higher this week lost some momentum. Markets had enjoyed their longest period in the green for 2016. IBM (IBM) is the best performer on the Dow Jones Industrial Average after agreeing to buy Truven Health Analytics for $2.6 billion. The acquisition strengthens IBM's health care portfolio, particularly its Watson Health business unit. Devon Energy (DVN) tumbled after announcing a public offering of 55 million shares, the proceeds of which will be used for general corporate purposes. Marvell Technology (MRVL) shares were active after the company settled a patent infringement lawsuit with Carnegie Mellon University. Marvell will pay the university $750 million with no ongoing royalties. TheStreet's Keris Lahiff reports from Wall Street.
