Stocks returned to positive territory in Tuesday's trading session after Monday's steep selloff. Wall Street suffered deep losses on the first day of trading this year. Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) enjoyed its best December in 90 years after reporting a 13 percent jump in sales. Its Jeep brand saw the best performance, racking up sales in its best month ever. Eli Lilly (LLY) climbed despite issuing weaker-than-expected guidance for the full year. The drugmaker currently has nine drugs in its pipeline, some of which are in late-stage development and expected to launch this year. Smith & Wesson (SWHC) shares jumped after the company raised its sales forecast for its current quarter thanks to a solid performance during gun-show season.
