Stocks traded mixed after a reading on private payrolls rocketed to its highest level in three years. That bodes well for the official nonfarm payrolls report out on Friday.

Caterpillar (CAT) - Get Report fell on reports a raid of its offices last week was tied to alleged non-compliance with tax law and financial reporting rules. No charges have been filed and it is not clear if officials intend to do so.

Crude oil prices held lower after a build in domestic stockpiles for the ninth week in a row. Supplies rose by just over 8 million barrels, four times what analysts expected.

Disney (DIS) - Get Report shares were on watch as the company kicked off its annual meeting. Investors will be watching for clues on CEO Bob Iger's future at the company, particularly after he expressed willingness to extend his contract beyond 2018.
