Mexico Hit by 7.1 Magnitude Earthquake
The scope of the damage and devastation from the 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Mexico is coming into focus.
The number of people killed by the latest earthquake to hit Mexico is growing. The epicenter of the massive quake is in the central state of Puebla about 76 miles southeast of Mexico City.
This earthquake struck on the anniversary of a 1985 quake that did serious damage to Mexico's capital.
Shortly after this quake in Mexico, the U.S. Geological Survey reported a 5.3 magnitude quake off the coast of Fukushima, Japan. That is the same area hard hit by the 2011 tsunami that triggered the meltdown at the Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
