McDonald's  (MCD) - Get Report is reportedly running out of burgers due the massive demand for their newly launched meal. The fast-food chain collaborated with famous rapper Travis Scott to drop the Travis Scott Meal, on September 8.

As many Scott's fan took to Twitter  (TWTR) - Get Report saying that they couldn't get their hands on the meal, the company humorously accepted that there's been a shortage.

"It wouldn’t be a true Travis collaboration, if it didn’t sell out in some stores, right?," the company tweeted.

McDonald's also told TheStreet in a statement that some restaurants have "temporarily sold out of some of the ingredients in the meal."

"We’re working closely with our suppliers, distributors and franchisees to resupply impacted restaurants as quickly as possible," the company said.

The meal had been gaining a lot of hype on social media ever since the collaboration was announced. Travis Scott has a massive following on social media, about 33 million followers on Instagram  (FB) - Get Report and 9.2 million on Twitter.

The Travis Scott meal includes a Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon and lettuce, a medium-sized order of french fries with BBQ sauce and a Sprite.

With this collaboration, Travis Scott became the first celebrity to be featured on the McDonald’s menu since 1992.

"Everyone has a favorite meal, no matter who you are," said McDonald's U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, Morgan Flatley. "Travis is a true fan having grown up visiting our restaurants in , not to mention one of the biggest musical acts and cultural icons in the world. This is the first time in nearly 30 years we've introduced a superstar's name to our menu."

Basketball legend Michael Jordan appeared on its menu in 1992.
