Watch Ross Mac of Maconomics break down the latest cryptocurrency news on TheStreet’s ‘Crypto Minute’ on Wednesday, January 19.

Transcript:

As NFTs continue to grow, so can your debt balance, thanks to a new deal, while the next global sport is going into the Metaverse.

It’s your boy Ross Mac and these are the biggest stories in cryptocurrency on Wednesday, January 19.

Yo mom and dad, can I borrow your credit card real quick?? Racking up more credit card debt has never been easier with Mastercard's newest NFT payments deal with Coinbase. Customers can now use their Mastercard to make purchases on the NFT marketplace. Once Coinbase launches its NFT marketplace, this means that users will not have to connect a crypto wallet and buy crypto in order to buy an NFT. Now remember this was one of our 2022 predictions, that buying NFTs would become much easier this year...

Moving into Meme stock land, it has been reported that AMC has given out free NFTs to over 580,000 shareholders. The "I own AMC" NFTs were minted on WAX. Shareholders can trade the NFTs, however, they hold perks for members....though it's not clear yet what kind of discounts or other benefits they hold....I guess this makes sense, a special thanks to the YOLO investors who own a stock even though we are insanely overvalued

We have the latest sport entering into the Metaverse....Tennis Australia partnered with Decentraland to host the Australian Open...making it the first tennis grand slam to be hosted in the metaverse. Fans can visit a virtual recreation of parts of Melbourne Park and access exclusive content, including footage from hundreds of cameras placed around the Park. And if that wasn't enough, the AO will also be releasing six NFT collections.

I’m Ross Mac and that was the Crypto Minute on TheStreet.

TheStreet's Crypto Minute is brought to you by Blockchain.com.
