Markets Rally to end Higher Thursday, Voya CEO Talks Babies and Cash
Markets rallied on Thursday to end the trading session higher, but still off their intraday highs. The blue chips were up 300 points at the peak of the session but pared gains as concerns about Ebola in New York City surfaced. Positive earnings news from Dow components Caterpillar (CAT) and 3M (MMM) boosted the markets at the opening bell. On Friday, traders will be watching quarterly reports from Ford (F), UPS (UPS) and Procter and Gamble (PG) as they report results. On the economic front, New home sales will be released at 10 am, eastern. Rodney Martin Jr., the CEO of Voya Financial (VOYA) rang Thursday's closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Martin discusses why his company is offering babies born in the United States a $500 mutual fund investment.
