Markets Open Higher Tuesday, Twitter Tumbles as User Growth Slows
U.S. stocks are higher in early trading on Tuesday despite some unexpectedly disappointing economic data. Investors are keeping close watch on earnings and the Fed. The Federal Reserve will begin its two-day policy meeting followed by an announcement Wednesday at 2pm, eastern. It is widely expected the central bank will declare the end of its bond buying program. Watch shares of Twitter on Tuesday. The micro-blogging site is sharply lower in early trading after reporting disappointing results. Twitter (TWTR) met earnings estimates but missed expectations on user metrics. Investors reacted positively to T-mobile (TMUS), despite reporting a wider-than-expected loss for its latest quarter, the wireless company posted record subscriber growth.
