U.S. stocks were weighed down with worries about the situations in Gaza and Ukraine on Monday. Major markets ended in the red but off session lows as investors stayed on the sidelines before some big earnings reports. EMC (EMC) gained 5% after the Wall Street Journal reported Elliot management had taken a stake in the company and is pushing for it to spin off. GoPro (GPRO) also moved higher after several analysts initiated coverage of the stock. Drug developer Allergen (AGN) gained more than 2% after saying it would cut 1,500 jobs. Food safety concerns pushed McDonald's (MCD) and Yum! Brands (YUM) lower. On Tuesday, Apple (AAPL), Coca-Cola (KO) and Microsoft (MSFT) are expected to report results. TheStreet's Susannah Lee reports from New York.
