Markets Await Goldman Sachs and Yahoo! Earnings on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Goldman Sachs (GS) - Get Report and Yahoo! (YHOO) release quarterly results. Before the opening bell, analysts expect Goldman Sachs to post third-quarter earnings of $3.79 a share on sales of $7.42 billion. During the same quarter a year ago, Goldman Sachs posted earnings of $2.90 a share with revenue of $6.86 billion. BlackRock (BLK) - Get Report , Domino's Pizza (DPZ) - Get Report and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) - Get Report also release earnings before the markets open. After the markets close, Yahoo! unveils third-quarter earnings, but given the company's pending sale to Verizon Communications (VZ) - Get Report for $4.8 billion, Yahoo! won't be holding an earnings call. On the economic calendar, the consumer price index for September is released at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
