It's been a rough day in the market.

Heading into the afternoon, the Dow dropped 250 points.

Lack of American Presence is Hurting Fox's World Cup Ratings

Viewership for the 2018 World Cup on Fox (FOXA) is down about a third from its 2014 broadcast, according to the Wall Street Journal, no doubt partially thanks to the lack of a U.S. presence at the global soccer tournament.

The U.S. failed to qualify for the tournament, which is watched by over a billion people worldwide every four years, for the first time since 1986.

Fox is spending $900 million on rights to broadcast soccer matches through the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States.

The media giant will have live games streaming on ESPN. This deal is huge for the eSports world.

Going into closing, Activision was up nearly 4%.
