Shares of Macy's (M) - Get Report got a boost Thursday after the retailer was able to strike a deal with union workers at its flagship Herald Square location as well as other locations throughout New York City. The Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, which represents 5,000 Macy's workers in the New York City area, requested higher wages, a more affordable healthcare plan and other benefits. The workers threatened to strike if a deal was not reached. Details of the new four-year contract with workers were not immediately known.
