Macy's CEO: It's Not Bricks and Mortar vs. Online Sales Anymore
CEO Terry Lundgren says Macy's stores are uniquely positioned to cater to customers who begin their shopping experience on their phones.
On Black Friday, Macy's (M) - Get Report CEO Terry Lundgren sat down with TheStreet to discuss selling to a customer base that is comfortable shopping on phones and other mobile devices.
He calls them omni-channel consumers, and describes them as knowledgeable customers.
Lundgren said most of these customers are buying through store websites, but many are looking to touch and feel the merchandise before buying. They also appreciate interacting with Macy's in-store associates.
Overall, Lundgren says that he sees the online experience as being a positive for the company.
