Lower Oil Prices Deliver Investor Pitfalls in Oil Stocks, as Well as Opportunities

Dicker believes that lower energy prices signal some deep difficulties in certain areas of the oil patch, particularly with the offshore sector and companies like Transocean (RIG) and Seadrill (SDRL). But other, well-financed and hedged producers of oil here in the United States are at levels that Dicker believed he might never see again. He believes there are values to be had for the intrepid investor in companies like Anadarko (APC) and Cimarex (XEC).
