It's a quiet day for stocks, but gold miners, consumer discretionary and small caps show signs of life.
Stocks are quiet in trading, but that doesn't mean there aren't trading ideas. Mark Newton, Chief Technician at Greywolf sees three areas of interest including the gold miners, which have lagged the recovery of the physical gold market and now are showing signs of recovery. Consumer discretionary stocks that struggled in the first quarter are also looking better. Finally, the small cap stocks of the Russell indices are starting to turn.
