Looking For a Job? These Five Sectors Have Thousands of Openings

Some 9.1 million Americans are still seeking jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, which reports that, with the economy improving, many industries currently have hundreds of thousands of openings. In the Hotels and Food Service industry, the average wage is $13 an hour, and less for non-supervisory employees, according to the BLS, which reports it currently has 669,000 job openings. Employment in the health care sector is expected to increase by nearly 11% or 15.6 million jobs from 2012 to 2022, according to the BLS, which says there are currently 786,000 job openings in the health segment. Three other industries currently have a need for even more positions.
