Look For Mid-Single-Digit Stock Market Gains in 2017, Says LPL Financial
Stock market gains will land in the mid-single-digit range for next year, according to LPL Financial.
The stock market should continue to power higher in 2017, with LPL Financial projecting mid-single-digit returns for next year. Some of the stock market drivers will include a pickup in U.S. economic growth, stronger earnings, and an expansion in bank lending. LPL Financial expects small-cap stocks may outperform early next year, and also predicts that health care stocks may benefit from a more benign regulatory environment. John Canally, chief economic strategist at LPL, believes the U.S. could see the fastest economic growth since the end of the Great Recession, which will be supportive for corporate profits.
