Liquid Alternatives Offer Investors Greater Control Says ASG CEO

Liquid alternatives are a smart option to traditional equity index funds because investors in hedged funds are not forced to accept the market's volatility, said Duncan Wilkinson, CEO of the AlphaSimplex Group. AlphaSimplex Group has three mutual funds: Natixis ASG Global Alternatives Fund (GAFYX), ASG Managed Futures Strategy Fund (ASFYX) and ASG Tactical U.S. Market Fund (USMYX). Wilkinson added that while index funds may outperform a hedged mutual fund in any given year, most alternative funds are doing exactly what they set out to do which is provide returns with less risk.
