Lee Iacocca: The Man Behind America's Most Iconic Car

Lee Iacocca has died at the age of 94.

According to reports, he passed away Tuesday from complications from Parkinson's disease with family by his side at his Los Angeles home.

The legendary businessman, of course, created that iconic Ford Mustang.

But, he did so much more.

Here are some of the highlights from his career:

  • 1924: Born in Allentown, Pa. to immigrant parents
  • 1964: Designed & launched Ford Mustang
  • 1978: Fired from Ford
  • 1979: Took over Chrysler Corporation
  • 1979-1992: Historic role in turning Chrysler into a competitive force
  • 2005: Returned to Chrysler for an ad, "If you find a better car, buy it"
