Kraft Foods Recalls 1.2M Cases of Cottage Cheese on Health Risk

Kraft Foods announced a recall of 1.2 million cases of cottage cheese, affecting brands such as Breakstone, Simply Kraft and Daily Chef. The food processing company said the recall was due to some ingredients not being stored at safe temperatures at a manufacturing facility in California. Though Kraft said the recall was precautionary, improper storage could have created conditions which increase the likelihood of food-borne illness. Product affected had only been shipped within the U.S. The company said since the issue was discovered, production had been halted while a solution was found.
